Summary — A hardcore drama I'd normally avoid, set entirely in one room — and it still won me over.
The Invite is exactly the kind of movie I usually avoid — a hardcore drama, almost two hours long, and it never leaves the living room. It was still much better than expected. The characters are interesting and genuinely well developed, the acting is strong, and the whole thing is just well made — and the comic relief actually landed, making me laugh out loud once or twice, which is rare for me.
That it held me for two hours without ever leaving one room is the review, really. I'm still pretty impressed.
