Expensive, Abstract, Finally Going Somewhere
Summary — A visually lavish episode that finally gives the story some momentum, even though I still don’t care for the characters.
This episode felt like a step up from the earlier ones. It’s still incredibly high budget—the production value is almost distracting—and the Weird Al cameo was a genuine surprise. The cameos in general feel tasteful and expensive rather than random.
I also liked that this episode was more abstract and, more importantly, that the story finally seemed to be leading somewhere. I have nothing against episodic storytelling, but the earlier episodic material just wasn’t grabbing me in the way it was presented.
My biggest issue is still the characters: I don’t really like any of them, and I don’t find them especially interesting or funny. Even so, this was good enough that I’ll probably watch the next episode.
