A Shaky Start with Some Potential

Summary — A disappointing premiere with weak comedy, but enough production value and potential to keep watching.

I went into Stuart Fails to Save the Universe expecting more of a sci-fi series, but it turned out to be much more of a broad comedy with some cheesy science-fiction elements. That wasn't necessarily the show's fault—I think my expectations were off—but it wasn't what I was looking for.

My bigger issue was the comedy itself. The jokes just didn't land for me, and since that's the core of the show, it made the episode hard to enjoy. The acting also felt very sitcom-like, which added to the goofy tone. On top of that, there were several moments that didn't make much sense, and the humor wasn't strong enough to smooth over those rough spots.

That said, I'm not giving up on it yet. The production looks surprisingly expensive, and there are some fun cameos, including Penn and Teller, that make me think the series might find its footing. The premiere didn't win me over, but I'm interested enough to see where the next episode goes.
